Wisprr started from a simple frustration: why does every dictation app either lock your data in the cloud or charge a monthly subscription just to turn your voice into text? I decided to build a completely free, local-first alternative.
Our Story
Wisprr was created by Sohail, a React developer who got tired of voice dictation tools that either demanded expensive subscriptions or quietly uploaded audio to train their models. Most free tools were basically ad delivery vehicles with terrible accuracy.
The goal was to build a tool that actually gets out of the way. You trigger a shortcut, speak, and it pastes clean text into whatever app you have open. No cloud storage for audio, no monthly fees, and no locked features. Wisprr is a completely free Windows application that treats users like people instead of data points.
